Isle of Palms

We spent our last two nights at the beach. Evan had fun picking up sticks and smashing the sand castles we made. It got cloudy in the afternoon, so we went to the neighboring island to check out Fort Moultrie.

We hung out on our balcony while Evan napped.

Sand and sticks, what could be better?

Evan wasn't really interested in build sand castles, but he liked to smash the ones we made.

Evan did *not* want to wear his hat.

We went to Fort Moultrie in the afternoon. The flags in the distance are Fort Sumter. This is the site of the first American victory over the British Navy in 1776. The British cannon balls bounced off of the palmetto log fort. The palmetto is now on the South Carolina state flag.
